My PhD is in quantifying the genetic health of sharks and rays, in both insitu and exsitu environments. I was awarded the NERC Doctoral Training Program in September 2015 and maintain CASE partnership with Sea Life.

I work alongside Holly and members of her lab group to look at the genetic relationships (parentage and siblings) of the sharks developing in a number of different environmental conditions. We aim to be able to assess the probability of individual genetic capabilities and survival rate, and further understand influential genes for adaptation.

As well as my PhD I also am a qualified Scuba Diving (IFC) Instructor with BSAC, and jump into the water at least once a month! I am a massive fan of travelling and walking, and I am always saying yes to the next adventure.
